Sunday and Monday gigs are ticketed, the exception is when it’s a Bank Holiday.
Other nights are free ( MOSTLY) but we do ask for donations into ‘the hat’
Please do book tickets in advance. We recommend doing this as many of our gigs sell out.
If you are a carer, please access a ‘CARER’ ticket if available.

Kevin Brown
Kevin Brown is one of the UK’s most respected blues guitarists, While busking in London’s Portobello Road in the late 1960s, Kevin met the legendary Delta bluesman Son House. Their encounter proved pivotal, with House informally mentoring the young musician and leaving a lasting influence on Kevin’s distinctive slide guitar style.
Enjoy Kevin here on a Monday evening in our intimate venue with the most excellent sound system. Much more than a pub gig.

SARGE FEST
You are invited to celebration of the life, music and boundless energy of Kevin(Sarge) Stevens. His songs will be lovingly performed by friends and former band members.
Sarge loved to write songs. In fact he wrote hundreds over the past four decades, whether he was living in Cardiff or, back in his beloved Stroud. The subject matter of his songs ranged far and wide, embracing bittersweet love, history, politics and the quirkiness and peccadillos of his fellow human beings, famous or otherwise. In the recording studio he spent a lot of his time with other musicians from Stroud and beyond, facilitating a shared creative space.
Come and spend some time with us celebrating Sarge’s music and sharing memories of a unique and wonderful guy.

Two-time recipient of ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’ at the Americana UK awards (2023 & 2024) Holly Carter is widely recognised as an exceptional fingerstyle guitarist and one of the UK’s only professional female pedal steel players.
Drawing deeply from the well of the folk tradition, she harnesses an approach to song as a powerful tool for education and the preservation of legacy. Along with a showstopping approach to guitar that follows hot on the heels of the likes of Chet Atkins and John Fahey, her music weaves joyously catchy melodies with thought-provoking lyrics that pay homage to a diverse collection of musical and personal heroes.

Our favourite local shoegaze/grunge queen Pebble Daisy heads back to the Albert following the release of her brilliant new single Sweetness combining 1990s indie rock, dream-pop, and shoegaze with heavy guitar riffs and sultry, raspy vocals. (8pm). Sue Harding is a West Country-based singer, songwriter & guitar player who creates a hauntingly beautiful sound with a retro sensibility, referencing the song-writing of the 1960s & '70s 4pm). Influwaster is the musical output of Joe Poulton who used to be in various other guises including Public Speech, Little Devils and more famously The Prawn on Britains Got Talent 2014! “Reminds me of Ian Dury!” said the Alberts Miles Connolly of his recent performance at our Songwriter’s Stage nights…(6pm)

di-cysgodion
Di-Cysgodion, led by Welsh bass player/composer Huw Williams. The line up consists of Mike De Souza and Billy Marrows both on electric guitar, Jay Davis on drums and Huw V Williams completing the line up on electric bass. Williams goes back to his rock roots with this instrumentation to explore the sonic pallet from the view of a jazz improvisor/composer. Having previously led projects with no harmony instruments, Huw decided to have a group which deals with harmony head on, exploring dense harmonic voicings paired with infectious rhythms and live stereo guitars. This music comes from a huge pool of influences, including Deerhoof, Ravel, Thelonious Monk, Super Furry Animals, Ornette Coleman, Hermeto and everything inbetween. This is a laid back, casual session! Morwenna from Hands On Harps can cater for a wide range of abilities, so whether you’ve never plucked a string before, play another instrument or even already play the harp a bit, come along and learn a tune at The Prince Albert on Thursday evenings.
Learn a different tune each week. Beginners will learn just the melody, more advanced players can learn an accompaniment appropriate to their skill level to go with it.
7-8PM £2 (if you have bought or rented one of their harps) / £5 (if you bring along your own harp) / £7 (if you need them to bring a harp for you)
Everyone also needs to buy at least one drink (but then why wouldn’t you?).
