Gigs are what we do best.

We are delighted with our line up of great live music and entertainment.

Nearly all gigs are ticketed, the exception is when it’s a Bank Holiday, Saturday or our Beer Festival.

Please do book tickets in advance. We recommend doing this as many of our gigs sell out.

If you are a carer, please access a ‘CARER’ ticket on the event ticket page. Most gigs will have three carer tickets available. If you can’t see it on offer they may have gone. You can contact us

If you want a ‘CONCESSION” ticket then have one. Most gigs have ‘concession’ tickets. You don’t have to show anything, or prove anything to access them. Student /Skint*/Teacher/Blue lightworker/ Old/Young.

If you are coming as Gig Buddies - tell the bar and claim a free portion of chips

*If you are really skint and want to come to a gig, let us know in advance, we may be able to sort something.

Email lotte@theprincealbertstroud.co.uk, maybe you can help by putting up posters

THEPRINCE ALBERT BEER FEST: Johanni Curtet and Nasanjargal Gabold

THEPRINCE ALBERT BEER FEST: Johanni Curtet and Nasanjargal Gabold

Dive into the heart of the vast Mongolian steppes with Nasanjargal Ganbold and Johanni Curtet.

In Mongolia, traditional music is deeply rooted in the natural environment and nomadic lifestyle. At the core of this sound ecology, whether with their instruments, such as the morin khuur horse fiddle or the tovshuur lute, or with their voices, through praises or throat-singing.

Originally from Altai, the cradle of khöömii in Western Mongolia, Nasanjargal Ganbold (aka Nasaa), is a master of this unique vocal art. Accompanied by Johanni Curtet, a French ethnomusicologist and specialist in overtone singing, they tell a story about this nomadic culture through a journey far beyond the mountains, into the wide open spaces.

Their collaboration gives life to a concert that blends natural sounds, contemporary poems and improvisations, offering a deep immersion into the soul of Mongolian culture.

About the Artists:
Nasanjargal Ganbold (aka Nasaa) - Nasaa was born in the Khovd province, Western Mongolia. He studied at the Ulaanbaatar Conservatory from 1994 to 2002 and graduated as a musician and music teacher. Nasaa excels in different khöömii techniques and throat singing. A talented multi-instrumentalist, he contributes to renewing the arrangement of traditional music with the morin khuur fiddle, bishguur oboe and tovshuur lute. In 2005 he founded Hosoo-Transmongolia with his fellow musicians, and in 2009 the band Sedaa - an ensemble composed of Mongolian and Iranian artists.

Johanni Curtet is a composer, musician, ethnomusicologist, throat-singing teacher and producer. First trained by Trân Quang Hai, his traditional apprenticeship comes from D. Tserendavaa in the steppes of the Altai, and B. Odsüren at the University of Arts and Culture in Ulaanbaatar. He teaches khöömii for the Philharmonie de Paris, and has opened a first curriculum in the West in 2020 with the International Institute of World Music in Aubagne. Artistic Director and founder of the Routes Nomades association since 2006, he produces Mongolian throat-singing tours and records internationally.

THE PRINCE ALBERT BEER FEST: BLIND YEO

Led by Will Greenham, Blind Yeo features a shifting cast of members which at present includes Henry Greenham, Sam Pert, Anoushka Helm, Jake Sheridan, Phil Self, Phyllida Bluemel and Dan Gilbert. The project began in the quiet and solitude of lockdown, before coming alive in a creatively explosive residency at the newly opened Cornish Bank in 2022 – a vibrant not-for-profit community arts space in the centre of Falmouth which has become the heart of a thriving underground Cornish scene of which Blind Yeo are very much a part. The band has since grown into a psychedelic carnival of sound best experienced live, as their memorable sets at festivals including Lost Map’s Christmas Humbug in Edinburgh and Great Estate and Tropical Pressure in Cornwall have proved.

August Bank Holiday Beer Festival

We are raising a glass to summer with the return of our annual August Bank Holiday Beer & Music Festival, taking place from Thurs 21st - Mon 25th August 2025!

Five days of exceptional live music, a hand-picked selection of cask beers, perry and ciders, tasty food and the warm, vibrant atmosphere that you can expect at the Prince Albert…

Festival-goers can look forward to over twenty specially chosen beers served from the cask, celebrating some of the country’s finest breweries including from North Wales Purple Moose, Brew York, Thornbridge with three different versions of the festival favourite Jaipur. “Jaipur is the only beer that ALWAYS features in our beer fest menu. It’s one of Miles' favourites, and as it’s his birthday over the weekend …and did you know it’s Prince Alberts the same day!” says Landlady Lotte Lyster Connolly who runs the pub with her husband Miles and their family. This year's music line-up of live bands includes psychedelic indierock to music straight from the steppes of Mongolia. There is a Shanty night, Celtic afternoon session, live human jukebox that wowed the crowds at the Avalon field at Glastonbury, and DJ sets spanning global grooves, tropical vibes, jazz and reggae with both well-loved local vinyl spinners and special guests. Food will also be served throughout the festival with burgers from locally reared cows, as well as Moving Mountain vegan burgers and their popular pizza with vegan and GF options.

Every day of the festival is free entry and it all starts at 6pm on Thursday through to 7pm on Monday night. “Our Bank Holiday Beer Festival weekends are some of our favourite times of the year. We get to showcase beers that we normally can’t sell in the pub due to our beer tie. And after such a fabulous summer we can’t wait to throw open the doors for a proper celebration. Wehave some exciting new additions in our ‘secret garden’ that you must check out. Whether you’re here for the music, the beer, or just the company, you’re guaranteed a great time…” - Miles Connolly
