"Twenty years ago on the 5th of July, around midnight after a very busy Quiz Night, we were all asleep in bed and were alerted by shouting outside. A customer driving past luckily noticed here were flames in the pub.* It was an electrical fire, and three adults and three children and a dog were rescued through a very small window by the fire service to safety. We were then closed until the end of November while they re-built the pub. This party is to mark the event, and say thanks to all the people that helped in those first crazy, hectic days after - and ever since. It was a scary night and a big old job building the pub back up. All our lives changed. And we are still here. So come and enjoy a big old BBQ, it seems appropriate, and all the friendships made along the way."
