Carol Consort rehearsal

November 30, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Dear Carollers,

WE’RE TO BE ON THE TELLY!
ITV’s current affairs programme ‘Tonight’ is planning a programme about pubs to air in mid-December and would like to feature us singing a carol in the Albert at the beginning of the programme.

They want us to sing one carol, twice. The second time for close-ups!

The plan is to film us at the beginning of our scheduled evening practice in the Albert on 30th November. We’ll be singing ‘Sound, Sound’ which we do well. It is clearly distinctly different from the church carol canon and it’s a Cornish pub carol rather than a Sheffield one.

We need a good turnout so, even if you hadn’t planned to come to the rehearsal, please arrive in the pub by 5.45pm so we can get the filming done and leave plenty of time for the scheduled rehearsal. You don’t have to be good-looking but please be sure that you know the carol well so we we don’t sound too ragged. Sound file is 003 on our website: http://www.albertcarols.uk/carols_pdfs.html

It would greatly help if you can let me know if you’re able to attend so we minimise anxiety about attendance.

I’ll let you know when it’s due to be broadcast.

Best wishes,

Bill
