We are proud to represent Rodborough and Stroud in this year's Good Beer Guide for the second time in a row. This is in recognition of our constantly high quality of ales, with at least one Loc-Ale, normally the award winning Stroud Brewery Budding Pale Ale. Recently, through the S.I.B.A. distribution scheme, we have been able to showcase many a local treat, with brews from Cotswold brewers Goffs, Battledown, North Cotswold and Severn Vale. The accreditation of the Cask Marque also brings people travelling through the country to the Stroud area. The Second Prince Albert Beer Festival featured 16 ales from around the country for regulars, beer fans and novices to sample. Over five hundred people visited during the weekend. After bringing beers from far and wide, we celebrated the treats of local breweries by solely selling the better known beers for a week before and after this period.

The Prince Albert isn't somewhere that will simply show you pictures of Stroud, it will share with you the product of Stroud- its creative and commercial output. It will bring the best of Stroud ales, art, music and people to its visitors in a way that makes them feel welcomed into the heart of the community. The Prince Albert serves the local community in a plethora of ways. It is a bulletin board for local events, businesses and services. It is a central meeting point for many groups from music to knitting, for people on their way into town, for parents taking their children to music lessons or the youth group. It opened extra early during the snow to offer hot chocolate for the chilly people coming down off Rodborough Common. It provides entertainment for a wealth of tastes from world music to burgeoning local bands. The Prince Albert is a performance space, a gallery, a living room, a quick chat with friend new and old, a meeting point and always a friendly face.
