A creamy mild with a fruity
palate, some roast character and a hoppy finish. One of the classic mild
ales—a ruby-black gem.
Bitters
Castle Rock Harvest Pale (3.8%) (CAMRA Champion
Beer of Britain 2007, Gold) (Nottingham)
An aromatic blend of American hops
gives this beer an assertive citrus-hop bitterness, but with some underlying
sweetness.

Timothy Taylor Havercake Ale (4.7%) (Keighley, Yorkshire)
A rich, fruity, hoppy ale from Madonna’s favourite brewery. This is a special
brew to celebrate the brewery’s 150th anniversary. It was last brewed in
2002 to celebrate the Tercentenary of the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment.
Soldiers of the regiment were always known as the ‘Havercake Lads’.
Strong Bitters
Elgood’s Greyhound Strong Bitter (5.2%) (Wisbech, Cambridgeshire)
A copper-red, full-flavoured, malty bitter. The rich raisin character is
balanced by English Fuggles and Challenger hops which lead to a lasting
bitterness.
Phoenix Wobbly Bob (6%) (Heywood, Lancashire)
A reddish-brown
beer with a malty, fruity aroma. Strongly malty and fruity in flavour and
quite hoppy, with the sweetness yielding to a dry finish.

A spicy hop aroma, balanced with citrus fruit, leads to
rich biscuity malt flavours. First Gold and American Mount Hood hops give
a distinctive citrus character leading to a long dry finish.

Sarah Hughes Dark
Ruby (6.0%) (Sedgley, West Midlands)
A classic example of a strong Black
Country mild, still brewed to the original 1920s recipe. A good balance
of fruit and hops leads to a lingering hoppy and malty finish.
Barley Wines
Lees Moonraker (7.5%) (Manchester)
Deep ruby-coloured ale with a malty fruity
aroma. Rich, sweet and fruity on the tongue, leading to a fruity but dry
finish.
